The Nicholson workbench is in my opinion, the ultimate hand tool woodworkers workbench. This is an 18th century style English carpenter’s bench, and its humble beginnings beg for this to be built with construction grade lumber, in this case Southern Yellow Pine. I’ve modeled this off of Christopher Schwarz’s Nicholson from the blue book on Workbenches and had a custom hand wheel done for the leg vise, and used a quick release vise instead of a traditional tail vise. This is a beast of a bench but is extremely approachable for anyone looking to up their woodworking game or get deeper into hand tool woodworking. Enjoy!
